These are mushy peas - they're often served with fish and chips, they're made from "marrowfat peas" which sound horrible. I admit they don't look like much, but they are actually pretty good! The title reflects my hopes that similar pleasant surprises await us over this coming year.

ReplyDeleteSomehow I managed to go an entire year in London without being exposed to mushy peas. I saw them in cans at Tesco's, but that was about the extent of it. Could be pretty good, despite the "marrowfat" associations...
